About Me
Hello and welcome to my practice,
As a visitor on this land, I would like to begin by acknowledging that we are gathered on the traditional and unceded territory of the many people where I walk and practice from the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation as recognized custodians of the lands and waters near Tiohtià:ke/Montréal to the Territory of Omámíwininíwag (Algonquin) Anishinaabeg people surrounding Ottawa. I recognise Indigenous Peoples’ long-standing presence in this territory and across Turtle Island and I implement this understanding in the work I do with clients. Further, this recognition and respect for Indigenous Peoples and their lands is a key step towards reconciliation. I Thank you.
I am a registered Social Worker in Ontario however I provide Guided Forest therapy Walks in both Quebec and Ontario, as a nationally certified Forest Therapy Guide and a member of the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy (ANFT). I am a listener and solution focused helper. I’ve been working as a helper for a good portion of my life, in various ways. In 2004 while finishing my Master in Fine Art at Concordia University, I found myself working in a shelter for women. In 2013 I returned to university for a Bachelor of Social Work and immediately began my MSW in the Indigenous Field of Study at Wilfrid Laurier and graduated in 2017. This was a rich experience that I am forever grateful for, however in no way does mean I am “an expert” or will I attempt to impart Indigenous teachings or knowledge. This is not the place for non-Indigenous folks.
Through my practice I hope to empower and uplift the folks I work with. I use several models that promote strengthening your core self. If you need a positive, energetic and caring wholistic therapist, please don’t hesitate to reach out to find out how we can work together to help you restore and revitalize yourself.
